还有人认为我们过于关注学业，忽视道德和人格的建设。恰恰相反，我们关心彼此的成长，追求社会的正义，勇于发声。比如，近期我们校园内举行了一次义卖活动，所筹得的资金将用于帮助贫困学生继续上学，这充分展现了我们的社会责任感。

作为年轻一代，我们正处于人生的关键时刻，面临着选择的十字路口。是选择消极和怀疑，还是选择积极和信任？每一个决定都不仅影响自身未来，还可能影响国家的明天。我坚信，我们有能力迎接挑战和承担责任。我们的热情与理想，将驱动我们去创造更加美好的世界。

Thank you so much for braving the cold to be here tonight. My speech today revolves around the themes of decisions and journeys. Research indicates that an individual makes approximately 73 decisions in a single day. With such a plethora of choices, it’s no wonder that many people become overwhelmed and paralyzed by the fear of making the wrong decision, ultimately missing out on the richness of life. Personally, I believe that the journey we take is far more significant than the decisions we make. There is rarely a clear right or wrong choice; instead, it is the experiences that come from our choices that define whether our lives are exciting or mundane.

Life is comparable to a box of chocolates; you can never anticipate what flavor you’ll bite into next. Take Forrest Gump, for instance. He didn’t engage in decision-making in traditional terms, yet through his sheer determination, he achieved remarkable things along his journey. The essence of the journey is not just the path we walk but rather our mindset, emotions, and the courage and resilience we exhibit as we face new challenges and unforeseen hurdles. Let me share my own experience: when I entered my postgraduate studies, I opted to change my major. The days following that decision were extremely tough for me. The courses felt foreign and complex, particularly since they were heavily grounded in mathematics—a subject I hadn’t engaged with previously. However, I viewed this as an opportunity to embrace new concepts and push my limits, so I persevered. I sought assistance from various sources and reorganized my approach to studying. Gradually, I began to grasp the material, and, surprisingly, I even found myself intrigued by math. Furthermore, I learned to take initiative rather than wallow in complaints. Reflecting on this, the initial choice itself faded from memory, while the joy and challenges endured over the past few months became a treasured chapter in my life.

Regardless of what decisions you face, cherish the journey. Through this journey, your potential will unfold, leading to new insights, improvements, and growth. These moments are the most exquisite parts of life, and you can only appreciate them while on the path. They add vibrancy to your existence.

I won’t judge whether my presence here tonight is right or wrong, but I wholeheartedly celebrate the wonderful journey I’ve embarked on. Therefore, dear friends, don’t let worries about your decisions cloud your experience—embrace the journey instead.
