清代服饰贵族女子留长指甲，清代的指甲套，也称“护指”。

以凤仙花或指甲花染指甲的风气由来已久。清代用金银做成指甲套，纹饰极为精美华丽，种类丰富。后宫嫔妃用的就非常普遍了，样式也增加了许多。中国古代妇女蓄指甲及饰戴护指套的传统由来已久，现在能看到的最早的护指套是吉林省老河深地区出土的汉代金护指。它是由薄薄的金片卷曲而成，呈螺旋状向上延伸，粗细长短可任意调节，简练而实用（图3-53、图3-54）。

Noble women of Qing dynasty grew long nails.The tradition of dyeing the nails by nail flowers had been lasted for a very long time.In Qing dynasty,the nail shield was made by gold and silver with refined pattern in various styles.It was also called nail shield in Qing dynasty.

It is very popular among the concubines with many additions in styles.The tradition is lasted for a very long for growing nails and put on nail shieldby Chinese ancient women.The earliest gold nail shield of Han dynasty discovered is from deep river valley in Ji Lin province.It is made by thin gold film folding,extending upwards spirally.The length and thickness are adjustable,simple and applicable (Figure 3-53、Figure 3-54).
