Teaching objectives:Through learning,students can understand the history of jewelry; master the combination of types,and personality of jewelry; master the art of matching jewelry and clothing.

学习重点：本章学习的重点是在首饰的创意设计与服装搭配方法上。理论部分以示范讲述为主，加强直观教学，以利于知识的传授。技能练习通过作品、示范、个别辅导、作业讲评等教学方法，最终达到让学生掌握知识，掌握技能的目的。

Learning focus:The focus of this chapter is on the creative design of jewelry and the way it is paired with clothing.The theoretical part focuses on demonstration and strengthens intuitive teaching to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.Skills practice through the teaching,demonstration,individual counseling,homework evaluation and other teaching methods,and ultimately achieve the purpose of helping students master the knowledge and skills.

首饰的产生可以追溯到远古的史前文化，国内传统定义“首饰”一词始于明清时期，主要是指佩戴于头上的饰物。那时又将首饰称“头面”，如梳、钗、冠等。其后由于戒指的使用与发展超过了其他饰品的品种发展，又因“手”与“首”同音，因而将戒指等“手饰”也被统称为“首饰”。

The generation of jewelries could be traced back to the ancient prehistoric culture.The traditional definition of ‘jewelries’ started from Ming Qing dynasty.It mainly refers to the jewelries for the hair.At that time it was also called ‘Tou Mian’,like comb,fork,crown.Later,due to the rapid development and appliance of rings,far exceeding other jewelries,and with the identical pronunciation of ‘hand’ and ‘head’in Chinese,all the jewelries for hands are categorized into ‘head jewelries’.

现代对首饰的定义又称广义首饰，是指用各种金属材料，宝玉石材料，有机材料以及“仿制品材料”，制成装饰人体及环境的装饰品，与服装搭配使用的饰品总称。由于首饰较多地使用稀贵金属和珠宝，因而它们的价值较高。而现在的服饰配件多以织物为主，同时也会使用多种非贵金属的价格低的材料，这样新材料，新观念不断进入首饰领域，从而首饰的品种、范围就不断扩大，这也是当今首饰业的发展方向。

The contemporary definition for jewelry is generalized.It refers all the jewelries for decorating human bodies,environments,and fashions,made by gems,jade,organic materials and synthetic ones.Because quite a few of the jewelries’ materials are rare metals and jewels,they are quite valuable.Currently the jewelries for fashion are mainly made by fabrics,also by various non-precious metals and low priced materials.With the continuous new materials and new ideas applied in the jewelries area,the categories and scope keep expanding.It is also the future development direction for contemporary jewelries industry.

首饰虽然体积不大，却清晰印有不同时代的烙印。不同时代的首饰体现了不同时代人们的文化习俗及审美情趣，也受到社会礼制的约束和传统习俗的影响，同时还与制作工艺水平和设计理念有关。

Athough the sizes of jewelries are not big,they have the clear marks of different eras.The specific culture and taste of that certain time were reflected by them.Meanwhile,they are influenced by the social regulations and customs,related with design ideas and manufacturing capability.

从人类开始意识到用装饰来美化自身的时候起，人类也就与首饰结下了“不解之缘”。人类最原始的首饰，距今已有7000年的历史，我们可以追溯到遥远的石器时代，当时由于生产力非常低下，人类在适应自然的过程中，面对无限神秘的自然世界，希望得到大自然强大力量的庇佑与恩赐，从而这种原始本能的神灵崇敬，通过各种艺术形式表现了出来，从而形成了独特的艺术形式——原始图腾，并在首饰造型或图案上表现出来。

Since the human beings had the awareness to decorate their bodies,the unbreakable relationships have been formed with jewelries.The most original jewelries enjoy the 7000 years’ history,which could be traced back to the stone age.At that time,the production capacity was quite low.During the process of natural evolving,dealing with the enormously mysterious nature,people wished they would be blessed and gifted by the great power of nature,thus,these primitive worship emotions had been exerted through various artistic ways.Then the unique artistic totem was originally formed,reflected on the patterns and shapes of jewelries.
