摘 要：本文从教学的角度探讨了翻译在专门用途英语教学中的作用。虽然传统的“语法翻译法”广受批评，但是在外语教学中，翻译是一种不可或缺的重要手段，对其有重要的促进作用，因此受到越来越多的关注。因此，本文认为翻译不仅仅是把一种语言转换为另一种语言的过程，而是融合听、说、读、写等语言技能的综合活动。专门用途英语作为传授专业知识的学科，更应该关注不同语境下语言结构、专业词汇、文化信息的使用。通过翻译这一手段，学习者能更好地意识到语言间结构和文化的差异，更有效地促进交流。

Teaching English for Special Purposes through Translation

Abstract: This paper discusses the role of translation in English for Special Purposes teaching from a pedagogical perspective.Although the traditional “Grammar-Translation Method”is widely criticized, translation is an important means in foreign language teaching and learning,and it receives more and more attention.Therefore, translation should not be regarded as a process of transferring the text from one language to another, but be seen and treated as a comprehensive activity which includes reading, writing, speaking and listening.Teaching a foreign language is teaching how that language is used in diversified contexts.As a subject of teaching professional knowledge, English for specific purposes should pay more attention to the use of terminology,language stucture and culture information in different contexts.Through the process of translation,students can better understand the structural and cultural differences in different languages, thus promoting communication more effectively.
